Figure 7.3 Hot Plate Locations in a Kitchen

If you are disturbed or perhaps angry or resentful while cooking, then your disturbed chi is transferred into the food and this is not good for the people who then eat this food.

When you cook food, you should be relaxed, so that your chi, or energy, which is transferred to the food, is also relaxed.

What do you do if your stove or hotplates are in a position that cannot be changed as shown in the diagram above? Go back to the Nine Basic Cures.

If a symbolic bright or shiny object is located near the stove, you will be able to see the “front” door of the kitchen. It may not be appropriate to put a mirror over your stove, but a shiny pot or wok may be hung in this location, or a feng shui crystal located here, or any other item that allows you to symbolically see the door from your cooking position.
